It is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses a strong magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to create high-resolution images of the dorsal spine, which runs from the base of the neck to the bottom of your rib cage. A contrast agent is injected intravenously for better visualization of the internal structures. The scan is recommended to help find out various disorders of the dorsal spine, including nerve compression, infections, tumours, and diseases of intervertebral discs.
